Introducing a new AI detector: ReText.AI is now able to distinguish machine text from human text
We present to you AI detector for textswhich changes everything. ReText.AI chief developer Olga Shkryaba explains how the detector works, why it is so effective and who it will be useful to.
How does the AI detector work?
At the heart of the technology is transformer architectureThe AI detector is trained on large datasets including both machine-generated and human-generated text. The AI detector analyzes the text line by line, determining the probability of generation for each paragraph. The final score is calculated as a weighted average of all parts of the text. In addition, the tool highlights problematic portions so that the user can quickly see where a check is needed.
The screenshot of the interface shows that the user receives not only an overall text score, but also explanations of which text fragments were generated. Intuitive design makes working with the tool comfortable even for beginners.
Advantages of the new detector
- Accuracy. AI detector successfully detects machine texts with an accuracy of up to 100%, which is confirmed by test results.
- Volume of text. Even the largest texts of up to 100,000 characters can be checked.
- Languages. The tool can check texts in different languages.
- Highlighting Fragments. The detector highlights specific sentences that are highly likely to have been created by a neural network.
Testing process
To verify the effectiveness of the detector, the team ran tests on three types of data:
- Generations - texts generated entirely by the ChatGPT-4o neural network.
- Human - texts written by people.
- Paraphrases - Human texts paraphrased using a paraphrasing neural network from ReText.AI.
The AI detector from ReText.AI has shown the highest result when inspecting generated and human-generated texts, outperforming popular counterparts. However, paraphrase detection is still a challenge for all state-of-the-art models.
Who would benefit from an AI detector?
- Education. Instructors can identify student papers written with AI.
- Editors and copywriters. The tool helps to meet the standards of text uniqueness and quality.
- Business. Checking documents for AI attributes ensures transparency and increases trust in their content.
- HR Professionals. Ability to identify fake resumes and cover letters.
- Media. Protect against automatic content generation to preserve journalistic standards.
Why did ReText.AI decide to create an AI qualifier?
Having created neural networks to generate and paraphrase texts, the ReText.AI team realized that a tool was needed to help maintain control over the use of neural networks. We believe that educational and professional texts should be written by humans. If neural networks do the work instead of students, then we are putting our future in their hands. We want neural networks to remain assistants, not replace humans.
Future plans
ReText.AI is actively working on improving the AI detector. In the nearest updates we plan to:
- Increase accuracy when working with paraphrased texts.
- Increase the speed of large text checking.
- Create features to improve the naturalness of texts.
AI Detector is a tool that helps to distinguish between texts created by humans and artificial intelligence. Its high accuracy and detailed analysis make it an indispensable assistant for business, education and professional content work.
